Custom staff name badges: a practical team checklist

What to prepare before requesting staff badges
- One confirmed name per line. Ask each person to check spelling, accents and their preferred name.
- A logo you own or have permission to use. A clear, simple one-colour version works best for our raised logo badges.
- Your badge and lettering colours. Choose contrast that keeps the name easy to read.
- The number of badges, including any spares or new starters you already know about.
- Your city and preferred delivery method. Ask about the production schedule before committing to an event deadline.
Check the longest name, not just the shortest
Our standard plate is 72 × 20 mm. A logo takes space away from the name, and longer names need smaller lettering. Paste the complete list into the team preview and check the longest names first. If the preview warns that a name will not fit, discuss a preferred first name or initial with that person rather than guessing.
A logo should support identification, not compete with the name. Raised single-colour lettering is different from full-colour printing: if your design depends on a photograph, fine detail or gradients, ask whether another badge material or printing method is more suitable.

Choose the fastener around the wearer’s needs
Magnetic backs avoid pin holes, but are not suitable for everyone. Not for people with pacemakers or other implanted medical devices. Keep away from small children: magnets can be swallowed.
