## Guides

- [Custom staff name badges: a practical team checklist](https://www.shapedforyou.com/guides/staff-name-badges-checklist/): To plan custom staff name badges, collect the exact names, a logo you can legally use, colours, quantity and delivery city. Check the longest name in a true-size preview before approving the layout. Our Winnipeg studio’s logo badge guide prices start at $18 CAD.
- [Name badge size guide](https://www.shapedforyou.com/guides/name-badge-size-guide/): The magnetic name badge we make in Winnipeg is 72 × 20 mm (2.8 × 0.8 in). Names up to about 9 letters print at full size, with capital letters about 7.7 mm tall. Longer names shrink to fit, down to about 4.4 mm, which is the smallest lettering we print cleanly; that’s roughly 14 to 16 characters. Adding a logo shortens the name area by about a third.
- [Magnetic vs pin name badges: which should your team wear?](https://www.shapedforyou.com/guides/magnetic-vs-pin-name-badges/): Magnetic name badges leave no holes, go on and off in a second and are kind to scrubs, knits and delicate fabrics, so they suit teams that wear their badge every day. Pin badges cost a little less and hold through very thick layers, but they leave holes and can snag. Magnets are not suitable for anyone with a pacemaker or other implanted medical device; for them, use a pin or a clip. We make magnetic badges in Winnipeg, Canada.
